Financial institution benefits from SSL offloading that delivers a superior combination of security, features and price-performance
MILPITAS, Calif. – May 10, 2016 – Array Networks Inc., a global leader in application delivery networking, announces today that South Carolina Federal Credit Union has selected Array’s APV series application delivery controllers (ADCs) to ensure high availability, optimized performance and enhanced security for mission-critical Fiserv Spectrum business applications.
Founded in 1936, South Carolina Federal Credit Union has grown to serve more than 150,000 members and hold nearly $1.5 billion in assets. For over 12 years, South Carolina Federal has relied on a number of products from Fiserv – a provider of financial services technologies and services –– to support core systems, debit and credit card management, ATMs, disaster recovery and other functions.
As a result of South Carolina Federal’s renewal with Fiserv’s Spectrum account processing platform, Fiserv recommended the credit union upgrade its servers to https, secured by SSL certificates. In addition, due to the compute-intensive nature of 2048-bit SSL encryption, Fiserv also suggested the credit union upgrade its load balancing and application delivery solutions to support SSL offloading.
Based on Array’s proven history supporting Fiserv applications, South Carolina Federal Credit Union evaluated, purchased and deployed two Array Networks APV Series ADCs, with integrated hardware-accelerated SSL processing. The Array ADCs now manage all SSL-encrypted traffic, relieving load from the credit union’’s Fiserv servers and allowing them to operate at higher levels of efficiency with significantly enhanced availability and security.
“System availability must be maintained at all times; in order to provide the life-simplifying transaction experience our members and employees expect, we must always be up and running,” said Jody Burton, Systems Analyst at South Carolina Federal Credit Union. “Things have been very quiet since deploying the APV Series appliance; and that’s a good thing. The Array has remained powered-on since day-one with no problems.”
“South Carolina Federal Credit Union’’s choice of APV Series ADCs to enhance the availability, performance and security of Fiserv Spectrum is yet another example of Array’s commitment to supporting the wide range of business applications essential to our customers’ success,” said Paul Andersen, director of marketing at Array Networks. “We are thrilled to have Array’s SSL offload capabilities and support for Fiserv applications playing a role in providing a superior experience for South Carolina Federal Credit Union members and employees.”
