Healthcare organization benefits from virtual load balancing and optimization that assure high levels of application performance for medical personnel
Milpitas, CA – December 13, 2016 – Array Networks Inc., a global leader in application delivery networking, announces today that Providence Medical Center has selected Array’s vAPV virtual application delivery controller (ADC) to ensure high availability, optimized performance and enhanced security for mission-critical eClinicalWorks (eCW) electronic medical record (EMR) and patient management (PM) healthcare applications.
Providence Medical Center is a 400-bed acute care hospital and Level 4 Trauma Center in Kansas City that sees upwards of 35,000 emergency room visits per year. To reduce costs and errors as well as improve quality of care for patients, Providence Medical Center relies on a number of applications from eCW to power their EMR and PM portal infrastructure.
As a result of Providence’s recent decision to transition from a SaaS model, and bring EMR and PM applications in-house running in a private cloud, eCW recommended the use of an ADC to assure the same high levels of service as that of eCW’s cloud-hosted solutions. Based on a long and successful track record with Array, the APV Series is the only ADC eCW recommends for use with on-site deployments.
In keeping with their private cloud initiative, Providence selected Array vAPV virtual ADCs to provide high availability, security and optimization for eCW applications. The vAPV virtual appliance brings all of the features and capabilities of dedicated APV Series appliances to Providence’s VMware environment.
