Quantros Selects Array Networks TMX2000 Application Front End (AFE) Appliance to Enhance Availability and Speed Delivery of Healthcare Applications

Cutting Edge Application Infrastructure Optimization Platform Delivers Exceptional Price/Performance for Accelerating Leading Web-based Incident and Occurrence Reporting Tool

MILPITAS, CA , July 5, 2005 - Array Networks, the technology leader in Application Networking, today announced that Quantros, a leading healthcare application service provider, has selected Array’s TMX2000 Application Front End (AFE) appliance.

Quantros is the market leader in Web-based incident and occurrence reporting tools, with a database of more than 350,000 occurrences, and is one of the nation's largest providers of the JCAHO Core Measure solution. Quantros applications and services provide a comprehensive platform for enabling streamlined safety and risk management, quality and performance improvement, as well as accreditation and compliance.

As a leading healthcare ASP, Quantros must ensure customers receive the highest levels of application performance, availability, and security possible. To meet these objectives, Quantros selected the Array TMX2000 Application Front End as an integral part of their data center architecture.

“Deploying the Array solution allowed us meet all of our application security, acceleration, and availability objectives, while saving tens of thousands of dollars in upfront costs over alternative solutions,” Dr. Sanjaya Kumar, President of Quantros. “We considered clustering software and load balancing solutions, but they were cost-prohibitive and not as holistically functional as the TMX AFE appliance from Array. We built a pilot customer application environment running Quantros RRM through the TMX appliance. Not only have response times been dramatically reduced, but instances of timed-out entries and aborted transactions have all but been eliminated.”

The initial Quantros configuration enabled server load balancing and SSL acceleration to provide high availability, security, and an accelerated end-user application experience. Besides providing redundancy and high availability, the TMX supported both training and production environments on the same appliance as well as several simultaneous RRM applications on the same appliance. Using the TMX2000’s intelligent load balancing with customizable L7 rules, the Quantros RRM applications were up and running, meeting all requirements instantly.

With integrated SSL acceleration supporting thousands of transactions per second, the TMX2000 secured sensitive patient information, enabled faultless, low-latency transactions, and dramatically reduced CPU utilization on all of Quantros' application servers. The Array TMX2000’s ability to enable additional advanced features such as caching, compression, and global server load balancing proved to be a direct fit with Quantros' IT objectives of providing a clear migration path of improving the end-user experience and increasing application availability.
